    ST. PAUL, Minn. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, is repairing its lockmaster house at Lock and Dam 10, in Guttenberg, Iowa.
  • Corps to temporarily reduce flows at Orwell Dam

    ST. PAUL, Minn. –The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, will be reducing flows from Orwell Dam, near Fergus Falls, Minnesota, starting at 7 a.m. on June 9, in order to allow Otter Tail County staff to relocate mussels for a bridge replacement project downstream of the dam.
  • Change of Command for Mississippi Valley Division

    Maj. Gen. Michael C. Wehr will transfer command of the Mississippi Valley Division (MVD), U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, to Maj. Gen. Richard G. Kaiser in a formal change of command ceremony Sept. 7. The ceremony will be officiated by the Corps' Chief of Engineers Lt. Gen. Todd T. Semonite and will take place at 10 a.m. in the Information Technology Laboratory at the Engineer Research and Development Center in Vicksburg.

  • Belk reassigned to Washington, D.C.

    Mr. Edward E. Belk, Jr., is being reassigned by the Secretary of the Army from the position of director of Programs for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Mississippi Valley Division and the Mississippi River Commission in Vicksburg, Miss., to the position of chief of the Operations and Regulatory Community of Practice within the Directorate of Civil Works at Corps Headquarters in Washington, D.C., effective April 5, 2015.

    The Mississippi River Commission will conduct its annual low-water inspection trip on the Mississippi River August 15-22, 2014. Four public meetings have been scheduled aboard the Motor Vessel MISSISSIPPI in selected towns along the river so commission members have the opportunity to meet with local partners, stakeholders and residents and hear their concerns, ideas and issues.
