    VICKSBURG, Miss. – The Mississippi River Commission (MRC) will hold a public meeting aboard the Motor Vessel Mississippi April 14 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Vicksburg City Front. As part of its annual high-water inspection trip, the MRC will hear ideas, concerns and testimonies from stakeholders, local partners and residents.
  • Corps awards a $67 million contract for the Fargo-Moorhead diversion project

    ST. PAUL, Minn. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, awarded a $67 million contract to Industrial Builders Incorporated of West Fargo, North Dakota, to complete the I-29 grade raise portion of the Fargo, North Dakota / Moorhead, Minnesota, Metropolitan Area Flood Risk Management Project, April 9.

    Leaders from The Mississippi River Commission along with leaders from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers toured the Missouri River Mar. 29 – Apr. 1. Lt. Gen. Scott A. Spellmon, chief of engineers and commanding general, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Brig. Gen. D. Peter Hemlinger, commander, Northwestern Division, Col. William Hannan Jr., commander, Kansas City District and Col. Mark Himes, commander, Omaha District, met with partners and stakeholders and visited sites along the river.

    ST. PAUL, Minn. –The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, awarded a $2.2 million contract to Tunheim Construction LLC of Fargo, North Dakota, to complete the Southern Embankment Reach SE-1 portion of the Fargo, North Dakota/Moorhead, Minnesota, Metropolitan Area Flood Risk Management Project.
  • Mississippi River Commission schedules high-water inspection trip

    The Mississippi River Commission will conduct its annual high-water inspection trip on the Mississippi River, April 12-16, 2021. Four public meetings have been scheduled aboard the Motor Vessel MISSISSIPPI in selected towns along the river. Commission members will meet with local partners, stakeholders and residents and hear their concerns, ideas and issues.
  • Army Corps of Engineers announces publication of 2021 Nationwide Permits

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) announced today the publication in the Federal Register of the 2021 Nationwide Permits (NWPs). The 12 reissued and four new 2021 NWPs in the rule are necessary for work in streams, wetlands and other waters of the United States under Section 404 of the Clean Water Act and Section 10 of the Rivers and Harbors Act of 1899.
