The effort to recover from catastrophic flooding continues in south Louisiana. The United States Army Corps of Engineers has deployed more than 70 employees from multiple districts to support operations there. Employees from the Memphis District, New Orleans District and the Mississippi Valley Division are deployed to the Joint Field Office in Baton Rouge, La.
The Memphis District is supporting FEMA. The New Orleans District is supporting the State of Louisiana. New Orleans is also the supported district for long-term recovery under the National Disaster Recovery Framework.
The Mississippi Valley Division currently has seven mission assignments, totaling 5.3 million dollars. More missions are pending.
