Restoration is used to beautify cities. Northerly Island in Lake Michigan was the site of a small airport known as Meigs Field. The airport was decommissioned, and the land restored to green space. Prairie flowers and a lagoon have replaced the terminal and runway and the residents of Chicago, Illinois have a new place to experience nature.
