Kent Parrish selected as the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers 2014 Program Manager of the Year.
Vicksburg, Miss…The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Vicksburg District (District), is proud to announce Kenneth D. Parrish, Jr., has been selected as the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers 2014 Program Manager of the Year. Parish serves as a Regional Program Manager of the four hundred and sixty mile Mississippi River Levee System (MRL). The MRL successfully performed as designed during the Mississippi River Flood of 2011. Parrish has been the leader of the MRL team for almost twenty years, maintaining and managing the MRL projects prior to the 2011 Mississippi River Flood. His leadership, experience and relationships with local levee boards and communities proved invaluable during the event. During the post-2011 levee system recovery efforts, Parrish was a subject matter expert and key member of technical teams tasked with repairing the damage of the 2011 flood.
