June 11, 2014 – The Mississippi Valley Division conducted an interagency hurricane rehearsal in Vicksburg, Miss., to practice its response and recovery activities should a hurricane strike Louisiana and/or Mississippi. Karen Durham-Aguilera, Headquarters USACE Director of Contingency Operations, and MVD Commander Brig. Gen. Duke DeLuca discuss plans for such an event. The exercise also helped MVD to strengthen existing relationships with key stakeholders and partners to ensure synchronization of its planning efforts, while also improving coordination, communication and collaboration with federal, state and local government agencies.
