A full-scale model of NASA JPL’s Mars Perseverance Rover. Launched in 2020 and landing February 2021, Perseverance’s mission is to seek signs of ancient microbial life on Mars. Perseverance has a drill to collect core samples of rock and soil, then store them in sealed tubes for pickup by a future mission that would return them to Earth for detailed study.
