Major General Kimberly A. Peeples relinquishes command of USACE, Mississippi Valley Division

VICKSBURG, Miss. – Today, Maj. Gen. Kimberly A. Peeples relinquished command of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Mississippi Valley Division.
Lt. Gen. William H. “Butch” Graham Jr. hosted the ceremony at Engineering Research and Development Center.
Graham lauded Peeples for her stellar leadership during her time with USACE. “Her leadership has been amazing. Thank you for all you’ve done for Mississippi Valley Division and the Corps of Engineers. You delivered for this valley,” Graham said.
Peeples reflected on her time with Mississippi Valley Division. “MVD team, you have shaped our journey and I am truly grateful. Serving 32 years has been an opportunity of a lifetime. I started my career on the water and I’m ending my career on the water. This has been a full circle journey,” Peeples said.
Peeples will retire later this summer.
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Mississippi Valley Division, headquartered in Vicksburg, Mississippi, provides regional oversight for six districts serving all or portions of 12 states along the Mississippi River and its tributaries. The division delivers engineering solutions in support of navigation, flood risk management, environmental stewardship, emergency response, military construction and infrastructure, hydropower, recreation and regulatory programs. As headquarters for the Mississippi River Commission, the division plays a vital role in managing and maintaining one of the nation's most important waterway systems. U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Mississippi Valley Division is responsible for water resources engineering solutions in a 370,000-square-mile area, extending from Canada to the Gulf of Mexico and encompassing 12 states. Its boundary extends from Canada to the Gulf of Mexico. District offices are headquartered in St. Paul, Minnesota; Rock Island, Illinois; St. Louis, Missouri; Memphis, Tennessee; Vicksburg, Mississippi; and New Orleans, Louisiana.
