The Science Coordination Team

The Science Coordination Team, as part of the Science and Technology (S&T) Program, ensures the application of the best science to the Louisiana Coastal Area (LCA) Ecosystem Restoration Plan by providing an overall mechanism for coordinating LCA Program science initiatives with ongoing and planned science activities in other research and development programs. These research and development programs include those of Federal and State agencies, universities, private interests and non-governmental organizations. The specific charge of the Science Coordination Team is to:
  • Facilitate information transfer
  • Aid in planning periodic science symposia
  • Assess and advise on new and innovative science and technology
  • Leverage resources to promote fiscal responsibility

Science Coordination Team members are agency, academic and non-governmental research program managers and technical experts who oversee programs in a field of science or engineering relevant to the LCA Program. Team members have experience in the science, technology and management issues surrounding coastal restoration. The Science Coordination Team members provide insight and guidance on how to improve information management and collaborative use, disseminate information via symposias and/or meetings, and advise on new and innovative science and technology, as well as how to better connect science and the project.
